Born in the slums of a nowhere town, not even knowing our father's face
We spent every day in a messy room with empty stomachs
Mama was selling her body at 18, she had no other way to survive
Treated like an inconvenience every time a man came over
Given pocket money in exchange for chasing us out of the house

With mama's revolving-door boyfriends, she went out and left us alone again
A life with no way out, treating a shared cup noodles like a luxury
Mama cried as she repeated, "if only you'd never been born"

There's no love in the town where we were born
What kind of sick joke is "eternal love"?
We don't believe in anyone else-- we'll take that crown with all our might
Ain't no love, we don't need anybody to love us, we're not looking for it

Running through the streets in the dead of night, we got picked up and taken to a facility
Cold floors, disgusting food-- there was no future for us there
It never changes, adults always treat us like trash
A place where morality doesn't exist, where an ordinary life is still out of reach

Under a starless night sky, we ran away from the shelter together
We chose to go back to constantly risking our lives on the side of the road
Making alliances in back alleys, constantly tailed by traitors and backstabbers
Stealing, swindling, trafficking, and always being told, "don't ask questions"^[1]

On the one-way road to hell, we discovered this rap game
Petty crimes and this one mic
Turning to a new page on the stage in that club
I still haven't forgotten the feeling of taking that prize money for the first time

[1] lit. "don't look inside", presumably like being handed a package to run and being told not to inspect the contents (almost certainly drugs), but i figure this conveys the point better in context
